About Me

I am a non-binary, queer, white settler of Scottish ancestry, living on the territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən People - the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations – and the W̱SÁNEĆ People. I share deep gratitude for their stewardship and care of this land in which I work and live. I also recognize the violence of ongoing colonialism, and commit to engaging in anti-colonial actions in my work as a therapist and as a community member.

I have a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University (2020), and have had the great honour of working with teens and adults who have experienced sexualized/gender-based violence for the last five years.

Relationality is central to who I am and how I show up in my work. I’m supported by my chosen family—especially my siblings and their little ones— and the lands and waters here on indigenous territory. I’m held by a larger web of queer and trans community, colleagues, animal companions, movement, music, and art. With deep gratitude, I strive to work in solidarity with Indigenous stewards, anti-oppressive organizers, and all those fiercely resisting violence and nurturing human flourishing.

My Approach

My approach is gentle, curious, and embodied.

Folks I work with experience me as open and non-judgemental, with an occasional spark of playfulness.

My work is trauma-informed, where I believe consent, agency and choice are the building blocks to creating and nurturing safety in our relationship.

I offer an anti-oppressive lens, which considers how we respond to, engage in, and resist systems of power that impact our connection to self and to the world at large.

How I Work

I practice Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), a trauma-focused and attachment-based therapy that supports emotional healing through the power of safe, authentic connection.

AEDP understands emotions as the primary site of healing and transformation, inviting us into deeper emotional experiences where meaningful change takes root through connection, and the experience of being fully felt.

Together, we’ll create a secure therapeutic relationship and gently explore the protective parts of you - those wise and necessary strategies that helped you survive. With care and compassion, we’ll make space for your emotional experiences to emerge, supporting a shift from disconnection toward greater self-understanding, confidence, and connection.

AEDP is experiential, relational, and transformative - nurturing a deeper sense of wholeness, aliveness, and hope.

While AEDP is the modality I am most deeply anchored in, my work is also informed by training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, and Somatic therapy. ACT brings an emphasis on values, presence, and acceptance; Narrative Therapy integrates a social justice lens and honours the stories we carry and the systems that shape them; and somatic work offers body-based insight, helping us listen to what is felt, not just what is said.
